My name is Mandy (Schoellhorn) Borgmeyer. I am 39 years old. I have an amazing mother and father, 3 unique brothers and a sister who doubles as my best friend. I moved to Columbia with my family when I was 5. I attended ICS from Kindergarten all the way through 8th grade. ICS will always be home. I graduated from Gibault Catholic High School in 1999 and went on to Saint Louis University shortly after. I graduated with honors with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 2004. While at SLU, I met my husband and together we started our life together in St. Louis. Will is also a teacher at Festus High School. We were married for 5 years when we were blessed through the adoption of our son, Jack. When Jack was 10 months old, we found out I was pregnant with Oliver. Life has never been the same! I started teaching at ICS in 2005. I spent one year in the 4th grade and then moved to 1st grade where I have been ever since. I feel so fortunate that I have had the opportunity to grow as a teacher under the direction of so many outstanding educators. The teaching profession can be challenging, but I couldn't do anything else. I knew I wanted to be a teacher in the 2nd grade. About half-way through the year, I was taking a test and thought to myself, "It would be so great if I could grade the tests instead of take them." All joking aside, I truly enjoy my job and all the kiddos I have the joy to teach every year. You have chosen an amazing school for your child and I am blessed to be one of the many people who will challenge, but most importantly LOVE your child!
